I'm in the beginning phases of training for the marathon in Chicago on October 12.
My running history: trained for six weeks last summer, building up to a 10K in the Fall, kept up running and did a 5K a month later. Hardly any running Dec-Feb and started getting back in shape in March and started full on run training March 25.
Did a 5K this past Sunday, the one and only time I'll ever run a non-coed race. What's the point? I had nothing to run for.
This week's schedule is Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat at 3mi/4mi/3mi/6mi .
I was successful Tues and today, Wednesday. Which blew me away. We'll see if I make it through the week and survive Saturday's run. Can already feel I'll be sore when I start running in the morning. Oh boy.
